Entity Identification Number

The Entity Identification Number (Entity ID) is a standardized numerical system used to catalogue entities. The Entity ID is to adhere to the numerical sequence currently in use on the General Public Database. If a publication wishes to describe an entity not currently documented by the GPD, it is to arbitrarily assign the entity to any number vacant within the database.

Habitat Descriptor

The Habitat Descriptor catalogues the general environments in which an entity is most commonly found. This may include specific Levels, Sub-levels, and Rooms. Other common Habitats are defined in the following table.

Common Habitat Descriptors

Majority - The entity may be found on nearly every level of the Backworld.
N/A - The entity is nomadic, and is not known to reside in any particular place as its home. This indicator may also can be used if an entity is extra-dimensional, and does not reside in any physical space in a manner consistent with the laws of modern, conventional Physics.
Unknown - The level/levels where the entity resides is currently unknown, though the entity has been verified to exist. This descriptor strictly does not indicate that the existence of an entity is unconfirmed.
All - The entity is present in all levels.
Cosmopolitan - The entity is found in environments with a high human population density.
Isolated - The entity resides in environments that are mostly devoid of human life.
Architectural - The entity is found in environments with the appearance of the interior of a building.
Words with clear and generally understood definitions such as "Forest", "Aquatic", or "Desert" are also permissible for use as Habitat Descriptors.

The Habitat Indicator acts only as a loose general guideline on where an entity is most likely to be found. It is not to be taken as an exhaustive or didactic list of where an entity can and cannot exist. For example, an entity's habitat may be listed as Level 1, indicating that it commonly resides within Level 1, though it may also rarely be found on other Levels.

Core Entity Class

The Core Entity Class describes the entity's basic properties, providing a general idea of its appearance and biological qualities. Note that the Core Entity Class strictly does not account for an entity's intelligence or behavioural patterns (i.e. a Zoophoid class Entity does not necessarily behave like an animal).

Properties

The Properties tags are used to provide more specific information on an entity's appearance, biology, and behaviour. They are primarily designed to help research staff access important entity data at a glance, though they may also prove helpful for lay wanderers familiar with the Entity Class. The full name of each property tag will pop-up when moused over (desktop) or tapped (mobile).

An extensive list of property tags and their specific definitions is listed below. Familiarity with these terms is crucial for research staff of all participating communities.

CVL	Civilized	Forming distinct, complex societies or civilizations (excludes hive-minds)
RAD	Radiological	Presents significant radiological hazards
NRO	Neurological	Presents significant psychological or neurological hazards
TXC	Toxic	Presents significant chemical hazard, including venom/poison.
PYR	Pyrogenic	Presents significant fire hazard
RLA	Reality-Altering	Possesses significant reality-altering powers which are poorly understood, or which clearly violate the known laws of Physics
UNQ	Unique	Singular instance of this entity recorded, with existence of additional instances unlikely.
AGR	Aggressive	Generally hostile to humanity. Excludes grudges to specific people or specific human groups.
BNV	Benevolent	Generally passive or even friendly to humanity. Does not account for specific allegiances to human factions.
?	Uncertain	Tag added to the end of any above sub-class to indicate lack of certainty
